During that first trip to Israel, I understood that the future of the Jewish people was being forged in Israel, not in the Diaspora, not even in my warm community on the south side of Chicago.

When I was 12 years old, my family took our first trip outside the United States.

We came to Israel on a two-week family tour. It was July 1982. The Lebanon War had just begun. In retrospect, it was the first step on what has become my lifelong Zionist journey.

I was moved by everything I saw. The IDF soldiers hitchhiking home for leave from the battlefields in Lebanon looked like movie stars. Ma’aleh Adumim, now a major city, was a clutch of mobile homes in the desert but the gleam in the eyes of the settlers showed the promise of what was to come.

The markets of Jerusalem, the beaches in Tel Aviv, the shells of Syrian tanks on the Golan Heights and the fish in the Sea of Galilee captivated my imagination.

The Western Wall awoke me to the immutable fact that the Nation of Israel, the Land of Israel and the Law of Israel are indivisible.

Hearing Hebrew, the language of prayer shouted out from every corner filled me with awe. And seeing the multi-ethnic society of Jews from every corner of the world shook me to my core. After two thousand years, in an act of will with no parallel in human history, Jews of all races, backgrounds, and cultures; Jews with unique, fervently kept traditions came home and began patching together a people forcibly separated for 50 generations.

During that first trip to Israel, I understood that the future of the Jewish people was being forged in Israel, not in the Diaspora, not even in my warm community on the south side of Chicago.

I loved America. But I wanted to move to Israel.

Nine years later, in 1991, two weeks after I finished college, I fulfilled my wish. I boarded an El Al flight to Tel Aviv with a one-way ticket in my hand. A week later, I took my first step towards the second stop on my Zionist journey: the Israel Defense Force. Two months after dropping down, I started basic training.

I served in the IDF for five and a half years, leaving as a captain. Most of my service was spent in negotiations sessions with the PLO. As the coordinator of negotiations on civil affairs with the Palestinians in the Defense Ministry, I was a core – if junior – member of the Israeli negotiating team during the Oslo peace process years.

In the IDF, as in all the stations I passed in my professional life, I viewed my work as a calling. I always believed that I had the ability to impact the country and the people for the better, and that it was my duty to try to do so.

For the past 18 years, as a writer in Israeli and international media, it has been my conviction that my job is to use my pen, my keyboard and my voice to shape and expand Israel’s maneuver room whether in relation to the international arena, to military questions, to legal affairs or to political issues.

The job of a commentator is to interpret reality. The media’s habit of simplifying issues by treating everything as an either-or proposition is disastrous for formulating policy. Israel’s options are rarely binary. On almost all issues, Israel has a full spectrum of options. Yet, due to media pressure, our leaders often miss them.

To advance its interests in the international arena, for instance, Israel doesn’t need to bow before foreign powers. It needs to show foreign powers that they want what Israel has to offer and that it is in their interest to work with Israel. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is the only prime minister Israel has had that fully understands and implements this basic truth.

The same is the case with the Palestinians. Israel has nothing to fear in its dealing with the Palestinians. The choice we were presented with for more than a generation – either peace with a Palestinian state or war without one – was a false and destructive conceit. It was based on a wide array of lies and delusions. I devoted hundreds of columns and my book, The Israeli Solution, to expose them.

So too, if we want to understand historic processes unfolding, we need to understand history. I saw it as my job as a columnist to explain the relevance of history to our current challenges and to expose the ignorance of much of what passes for historical wisdom in the popular discourse, whether in relation to German history, to Jewish history, to American history, or to Islamic history.

Over the past several years, I found myself returning over and over again to the study of basic issues of governance. This was no esoteric exploit.

Over the past several years, the term “rule of law” in Israel has been turned on its head. Rather than denote the dispassionate enforcement of duly promulgated laws, it has come to mean what President Reuven Rivlin once referred to as the tyranny of the “rule of law mafia,” that is, the rule of unchecked lawyers.

Israel’s Basic Law: Knesset defines the Knesset as the sovereign. That is because the public elects its members in national elections. Members of Knesset in turn, elect the government as the executive arm of the people’s will. That is how it works in democracies. The parliament legislates laws. The executive implements policies in accordance with the law and the mandate it receives from the public at the ballot box. The job of the judicial branch is to interpret laws.

Over the past several years, and with growing intensity in the past four years, the authority of the Knesset to promulgate laws has diminished. The combined forces of the attorney-general and the justices of the Supreme Court have seized not only the power to abrogate laws and interfere with the legislative process, but to dictate laws through legal opinions and judgments. The same goes for executive power. Not only have the justices and attorneys arrogated to themselves the power to cancel government decisions and policies, they have also asserted the power to dictate policies to the government.

Through these acts of the legal fraternity, the powers of Israel’s elected officials have been whittled down. This week we learned that Supreme Court president Esther Hayut has quietly empaneled a forum of 11 justices to determine the legality of Basic Law: Israel as the Nation-State of the Jewish People.

In Israel, Basic Laws are essentially the constitutional foundations of the state.

If Hayut goes through with adjudicating petitions against the law, even if the justices rule that the Basic Law is legal, by claiming the power to adjudicate a Basic Law, the justices will seize the power to undermine the foundations of the state.

The Law of Return, which is the anchor of Jewish peoplehood and the ingathering of exiles, has long been a red flag for post-Zionist radicals who reject Israel’s right to exist as a specifically Jewish state. There is every reason to believe that if the justices seize the power to undermine Basic Laws, they will not hesitate to go after the Law of Return.

Watching this dangerous trend of events, I have used my position as a columnist to warn the public about what is happening and to empower Israel’s politicians to fight for their powers. If Israel is to maintain its democracy, our elected officials must be empowered to challenge the legal fraternity and restore to the Knesset the sole power to legislate laws.

Given the gravity of the situation, the disputes over Israel’s borders, its energy policies, its immigration policies, its economic policies and its military policies become secondary concerns. The key question that hangs in the balance today is whether the Knesset will restore its power as the repository of the people’s will in accordance with law or will it become a mere debating society with the actual power to determine Israel’s future devolved entirely to bureaucrats ruled by a handful of unelected lawyers and judges? Because if the latter happens, the people will lose all ability to determine the outcome of every other aspect of national life.

Every once in a while, over the past year or two, I found myself wondering whether I should throw my hat into the ring and enter politics. Could I be effective in advancing the goal of restoring the powers of the Knesset from inside the Knesset or am I better off staying where I am? Since this was a purely hypothetical question, I left it open.

This brings me to my decision this week to move to a new stop on my Zionist journey.

This week I decided to respond positively to an offer from Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked and Education Minister Naftali Bennett to join their new party, the New Right (Hayamin Hehadash), and run on their Knesset slate.

True, there is more than one party that reflects my views in the Knesset, at least officially. But in recent years, the political leaders who have done the most to translate my positions into action have been Shaked and Bennett.

They share my concern for Israel’s future as a democracy. They dare to insist that to restore and strengthen Israeli democracy, the current power balance between bureaucrats on the one hand and elected officials on the other must be turned on its head. Whether they are discussing the vast expansion of the power of military lawyers over field commanders in the IDF, the necessity of enforcing the laws of Israel over its Arab citizens with the same alacrity as it is enforced over its Jewish citizens, or rejecting the notion that the Supreme Court has the power to overturn Basic Laws, Bennett and Shaked have consistently communicated and advanced positions I view as critical for the future of the country.

No less importantly for me as a proud Jew who never understood what I see as a largely artificial distinction between religious and secular Jews, their new party doesn’t seek to serve just one type of Israeli. It seeks to represent the full spectrum of the Israeli society that I saw and fell in love with, in all its rich diversity, in that pivotal first visit in the summer of 1982.

I am convinced that restoring Israel’s democratic institutions is the most urgent task we face today. And while I would have been happy to continue advocating for legal reform from my position in the media, when Bennett and Shaked asked me to join them in their efforts to advance this goal from the Knesset, I said yes with little hesitation.

The Zionist journey I began in 1982 has taken me places I could never have dreamed of. It is my deepest hope and my intention that on my next stop, I will have the privilege of advancing the Zionist enterprise I fell in love with so many years ago.

US  STATE DEPT REFUSES TO EXPOSE ANTI-ISRAEL INCITEMENT IN PALESTINIAN TEXTBOOKS

Why won’t the U.S. government release the whole truth about Palestinian textbooks’ rampant incitement, martyr worship, and refusal to accept Israel’s existence?

The think tank that I run, the Center for Near East Policy Research, has completed a four-year research activity, in which all 364 school books for grades 1-12 that were published by the Palestinian Authority (PA) and used in UNRWA schools, in the years 2013-2018 were examined.

We presented our findings at the US Congress, Canadian Parliament, the Swedish Parliament, the British Parliament and, most recently, at the UN.

As a result, U.S. Sen. James Risch (R-IDAHO), chairman of the US Senate Near East Subcommittee of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, asked the GAO (Government Accountability Office) to conduct an investigation of Palestinian Authority school books now used by UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency.

Until recently, the US was the largest funder of UNRWA, donating 30% of the $1.2 billion UNRWA budget.

54% of the UNRWA budget is allocated to UNRWA education.

The GAO completed its comprehensive report on UNRWA education

Sources at GAO confirm that the GAO study documents that Palestinian Authority school books used by UNRWA work against peace and reconciliation, and insert war indoctrination throughout the PA school books.

However, Chuck Young, director of public affairs of the GAO issued a statement that the US State Dept will not allow the report to be released to the US Congress which had ordered the report in order to provide a guide to further US funding of UNRWA.

The chief researcher whom we hired to examine the texts used by the Palestinian Authority and UNRWA schools was Dr. Arnon Groiss, scholar of Middle Eastern studies holding a PhD in this field from Princeton University, as well as an MPA degree from Harvard University.

In 2017, Dr. Groiss retired as senior reporter for Israel’s Arabic Radio where, for over 40 years, he followed Middle Eastern and Arab affairs daily. The goal of this research project was to check the attitude to the Israeli-Jewish “other” and the possibility of solving the war with the “other” in a peaceful manner, in the spirit of the peace agreements, known as the Oslo Accords that were signed by the PLO and Israel in 1993-1995.

Palestinians: Peace with Israel Not an Option

The project yielded three studies, all of which are posted at: www.IsraelBehindTheNews.com

The first study was issued in September 2017, having covered 201 books of various school subjects. An additional 118 books mostly published in 2017 were examined during 2018 in a separate study. The final study covers 45 books published in 2017-2018 for grades 11 and 12 in the various streams.

The picture revealed throughout this project is that Palestinian students learn that a peaceful resolution of the war with Israel is not an option.

Instead, the theme that runs through the PA curriculum is that Palestine must be liberated from the “Zionist occupation” by way of an armed struggle titled “Revolution” [Thawrah], which involves terrorist action-styled “self-sacrificing operations” [’amaliyyat Fidaiyyah].

You can see this in the context in a PA school book reference to the “1972 Munich operation” where 11 members of the Israeli team to the Olympic Games were massacred (History Studies, Grade 11, Part 2 (2017) p. 54).

Those who carry out such actions are called “self-sacrificing ones” [Fidais] and those among the liberation struggle are called on to liberate the Muslim holy place, Al-Aqsa Mosque, in Jerusalem, and remove it from the Jews’ sway.

Palestinian pupils are taught that the “struggle for liberation” is not limited to the areas of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Rather, the whole country from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea is meant by this, as Zionist occupation is said to have started in 1948, in what is termed “the Catastrophe” [Nakbah], and not in 1967.

Israel’s pre-1967 territory is termed “the Palestinian territories that were occupied in 1948” (Management and Economics, Grade 11, Part 2 [Entrepreneurship and Business] (2017) p. 55).

‘Zionist Entity’?

Pre-1967 Israel is never presented as a legitimate sovereign state nor does it appear on the map where it is replaced in its entirety by “Palestine.” Israel’s very name is replaced in PA texts by “the Zionist Occupation” or “the Zionist Entity,” which should be extirpated from the Middle East (History Studies, Grade 12, (2018, p. 145).

Cities inside pre-1967 Israel, such as Nazareth, Jaffa, Haifa, Acre, Tiberias, Beersheba and Ashkelon are transformed by PA school books into Palestinian cities. Palestinian refugees from the 1948 war and their five million or so descendants are mandated by PA education to return to liberated Palestine and thus the 70-year old “Catastrophe” will end.

PA school books present all of the six million Jewish citizens as colonizing settlers motivated by racist sentiments (History Studies, Grade 12 [Humanities] (2018) p. 5) who occupied Palestine, massacred and expelled many of its original inhabitants and have held the rest “under occupation” to this very day.

The illegitimate status of the Jews in the country in the eyes of Palestinian educators is well expressed by the noted absence from the map of cities established by Jews in modern times, or showing them under Arabic names.

Tel Aviv’s name is presented as Tal al-Rabi. Eilat appears as Umm al-Rashrash.

Not only is the current Jewish presence in Palestine delegitimized, PA education denies past Jewish history in the country, as well as the holy places that are presented as exclusively Islamic, including the Western Wall in Jerusalem and the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron.

The Jews’ notions of historical ties to Jerusalem, in particular, are described in PA texts as “baseless claims,” “superstitions,” “legends,” “illusions” and “distorted narratives” (Arabic Language 1: Reading, Grammar, Prosody and Expression – Academic Path, Grade 12 (2018) p. 38-39) and the Jews are presented as “usurpers” and “invaders” (ibid., p. 46).

As if this heavy delegitimization of both Israel’s existence and the Jews’ very presence in the country is not enough, the PA school books also contain numerous pieces demonizing all Jews, within two Islamic contexts: As a people disobedient to, even blasphemous of, God, according to Koranic verses, and as a group hostile to the Prophet of Islam and the early Muslims in Arabia.

The impact of these accusations on the minds of young Palestinians, who are relatively religious, portrays all Jews in Israel in a negative light even more than their demonization in the context of the ongoing Arab Israeli war, which was launched by the Arab League in 1948. Israel, referred to in the PA texts by the epithet “the Zionist Entity,” is demonized in the context of the “primary sin” of its very establishment:

Meanwhile, PA textbooks accuse the Zionist entity of perpetrating numerous massacres against Palestinians, assassinating Palestinian leaders, destroying Palestinian villages, causing Palestinian children’s suffering, being aggressive, violating international laws and conventions, maltreating Palestinian “prisoners of war, confiscating Palestinian land, uprooting trees, causing Palestinian unemployment, limiting Palestinians’ free movement, detaining students, damaging the Palestinian economy, polluting the Palestinian environment, and even endangering Palestinian nutritive security and causing the desertification of Palestine.

PA texts ignore any Palestinian terror actions that may have contributed to the creation of this situation.

No Objective Facts About Jews or Israel

The demonization effort of the PA school books is augmented by the absence of any objective information about Israel and the Jews that would counterbalance it.

Nor do the PA school books refer to the Jewish-Israeli individual as an ordinary human being.

Jews are instead are referred to as a hated ethnic group, with all the accompanying connotations of alienation and threat, which makes them a legitimate target for violence.

Indeed, using violence against Israel and the Jews is considered by PA school books as legitimate – in defense of Islam and its holy places in the country, moral – in light of their perceived inherent evil, and legal – because they are presented as foreign occupiers, who act in contradiction to international law and are said to constitute an existential threat to the Palestinian people.

Peace and coexistence cannot be an option, given the indoctrination of PA school books.

Thus, the new PA school books contribute to the perpetuation of war.

Indeed, one of the findings of the present study is that this kind of indoctrination has spread to all school subjects, especially mathematics, and it appears as well in purely professional textbooks such as “Small Businesses” and “Management and Economics” of the entrepreneurship and business stream and “Entrepreneurship in Business” of the technology stream.

People who support peace in the Middle East should raise their voices and demand that the PA change their war-oriented curriculum as a precondition to any move toward peace, in accordance with its commitments by virtue of the Oslo Peace Accords, which form the basis of the very establishment and operation of the nascent Palestinian Authority.

A peace accord without peace education seems futile. Yet all indications are that the new peace plan in the works from the US government does not include education. Then again, US censorship of the GAO report on PA school books prevents the US Congress and the American people from knowing that PA texts books used by UNRWA represent weapons of war. As a result, the US has made no demands on the new mega funders of UNRWA – Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UK and Germany – to condition their aid on stopping UNRWA war indoctrination.

They are my great protectors — leftist Jews, professional Democrat Jews, Jews in Hollywoodand on Broadway, Jews in the liberal mainstream media. For a year and more, they have been in the forefront protecting me from the “anti-Semitism” of candidate — now President — Donald Trump, from Steve Bannon and Breitbart, from the Republican Party. There they are, yelling “anti-Semitism!” and worrying about me. And oh how they care for Israel!

 

They are phony baloney. They are as false as the Fake News they spread about the President of the United States. I know. I am a Jew all day every day. I wear a yarmulka at home, at work, indoors, outdoors. I walk an hour to and from synagogue on my Sabbath, replete with yarmulka, engaging society around me. My clerical colleagues and friends among the Catholic Diocese where I live, among the Protestant pastors and ministers whom I count dearly, among the non-Jews in all walks of my life, all know I am a Jew. I am not the kind of Jew whose kitchen observes Judaism, while I eat lobster and pork outside. And I am sick and tired of seeing and hearing these professional leftists — liberals and radical left activists who often are employed and paid well for their left-driven agenda activism — manipulating the happenstance of their Jewish birth to justify hurling vile and baseless accusations of “anti-Semitism” against those in the Trump Administration who actually are philo-Semitic.

 

If these leftists are so concerned about anti-Semitism, why is it that so many among them never once sought to protect me or Israelfrom Barack Obama or John Kerry? When Obama and Kerry combined to imperil Israelby entering into an horrific deal with Iran, they were quiet. When Obama insulted the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, treating him like a beggar from Jerusalem, forcing Bibi to wait outside while the Obamas dined, they did not complain. As Keith Ellison, whose anti-Semitic record of back-biting against Israeland Jews has been exposed, rises within Democrat ranks they do not object. They do not condemn the anti-Semitism of an Al Sharpton, nor challenge why an Obama began his second Presidential campaign by meeting with Sharpton’s organization. Where were they when Kerry and Obama ambushed Israelat the very end of Obama’s term, refusing to veto an anti-Semitic United Nations Security Council resolution that declared an outright lie: that Jews have no connection to East Jerusalem?

 

They are not playing with a full deck. This President of the United States, Donald Trump, is the most philo-Semitic President of my lifetime, perhaps in American history. That is why he carried the vote of the Orthodox Jewish community of Americain overwhelming numbers. We Orthodox Jews know what anti-Semitism really is, what it sounds and feels like, at work and at play. We are not cardiac Jews who speak of having a “Jewish heart,” as though Mother Teresa or Father Damian had any less compassion, nor do we manifest our Jewishness solely by using Yiddish words like “chutzpah” and giggling over embarrassments like Lena Dunham and Sarah Silverman. Rather, we live Torah tradition and adhere to Torah commandments, and we synthesize our American and Judaic cultures effortlessly.

 

Donald Trump — unlike a great many of his liberal Democrat critics among the Jewish “leaders” in the United Statesand the liberal Democrat Jews in Hollywood, on Broadway, and in journalism — actually has Jewish grandchildren. By contrast, many of their Jewish lines have been self-severed. His daughter is an Orthodox Jew. His son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is an Orthodox Jew. Jared and Ivanka do not hide their Judaism; they revel in it proudly though quietly. Unlike Hillary Clinton’s Jewish son-in-law, they did not have a Protestant pastor co-conducting their marriage. Donald Trump did not distance from them; rather, he remains connected with them.

 

Donald Trump has associated with Orthodox Jews all his life. He has named an extraordinary attorney, David Friedman, to be America’s Ambassador to Israel. The Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of the Trump Organization, Jason Dov Greenblatt, is an Orthodox Jew. In January 2017 President Trump appointed him to be United States Special Representative for International Negotiations. Donald Trump has been a lifelong supporter of Israel. His father, Fred Trump, donated land for the construction of an Orthodox synagogue — and then donated the money to build it. When Prime Minster Netanyahu announced, partly in response to the anti-Semitic U.N. Security Council Resolution that the Obama-Kerry ambush allowed, that Israelnow will build more than 6,000 new homes in Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, the Trump Administration broke with fifty years of American policy and did not speak a single word of condemnation. Days later, President Trump, standing alongside Netanyahu, abandoned the failed and unworkable mantra of the “Two-State Solution,” a formula that never has been realized in fifty years of negotiations because it is fundamentally flawed, and the President instead said America will support any solution — “One State, Two State” — no particular prescribed formula other than what the parties to the situation themselves directly agree to pursue.

 

Is President Trump perfect? Hardly. Does he sometimes cause even his strongest supporters to close their eyes, take a deep breath, count to ten, then count to a thousand, all while taking more deep breaths? Absolutely. That is President Trump. But that same man is a great supporter of Israelwith a lifelong record of great philo-Semitism. And how dare any one, particularly a quasi-Jew on some liberal organization’s payroll, call this man soft on anti-Semitism!

 

So who are these defenders of mine, these “defenders of the Jews,” who regularly and falsely accuse the man of a vile hatred that is outside his very persona? The newspaper and television “news” programs and reports somehow find them. They craft Fake News by quoting the Jews they want.

 

There is a Steven Goldstein, the director of something called the “AnneFrankCenter.” As an American Orthodox Rabbi of more than 35 years, a former Vice President of the Zionist Organization of America, a member of the Rabbinical Council of America’s executive committee during most of the past decade, and a host of other Jewish organizational affiliations and leadership posts, I can say unequivocally that this fellow who ranted against President Trump on the same day that the President forcefully condemned anti-Semitism merely is one more professional liberal. Even as the President said that “the anti-Semitic threats targeting our Jewish community and community centers are horrible and are painful and a very sad reminder of the work that still must be done to root out hate and prejudice and evil,"this Goldstein was attacking Trump. The “AnneFrankCenter” that Goldstein heads arrogates the name of a tragic Holocaust victim to advance a leftist agenda. It is akin to someone forming a “MartinLutherKingCenter” to sell discount tickets to baseball games and ski resorts. Goldstein himself comes there straight from a stint as director of a gay rights activist group in New Jersey.

 

The Anti-Defamation League, founded in 1913 amid the horrific era of the Leo Frank lynching in 1915 Georgia, now has been taken over by Democrat Party activists. With the retirement of its venerable leader, Abraham Foxman, the ADL now is run by Jonathan Greenblatt, who arrived straight from serving in the Obama White House as Special Assistant to President Obama and Director of his Office of Social Innovation and Civic Participation.The Unionfor Reform Judaism, another regular critic of President Trump, now is run by a hierarchy of liberal reform rabbis marked by their almost-universal fealty to the Democrat Party. And there is no shortage of liberal Jews at the Huffington Post, Slate, Vox, CNN, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and other mainstream media who are quick to condemn every imaginable manifestation of Trump “anti-Semitism” that their minds can conjure. If Trump were to say “I don’t like juice,” they would be yelling: “Trump said he doesn’t like Jews!” 

 

When a Trump campaign banner attacked Hillary Clinton and used a depiction that included a six-pointed star, a sheriff’s badge, these sorts saw a “Star of David.” “Anti-Semite!” some yelled. When a sensitive White House statement memorializing the Holocaust, written for the President by a Jewish aide who himself had lost family during the Shoah, failed to use exactly the right wording, some yelled “Anti-Semite!” In seeing anti-Semitism emanating from every corner, they even saw a friendly welcoming wave by radio talk show host Laura Ingraham to the crowd at the Republican National Convention as being a Hitler salute. And yet, after Keith Ellison was exposed for mocking Jews and Israelto a small Muslim group in Minnesota, these “defenders” remained silent.

 

It is enough already. I do not need the Jewish professional liberal Democrats to protect me from President Trump. I need him to protect me from them.

CONCORD MANAGEMENT CHALLENGED MUELLER IN COURT

One Russian firm that challenged Mueller in court, Concord Management, is making a mockery of the Mueller gang!  When will US judges understand that the Mueller gang is corrupt and criminal in attempting a coup of the 2016 US election and in covering up their crimes.

As we’ve noted previously, in an effort to tie their corrupt investigation to Russia, the Mueller team indicted 13 Russians after presenting their cases to a grand jury in February of 2018. Immediately, these indictments were suspect as everyone on the corrupt Mueller team knew that these ‘Russians’ would never be brought to justice, even if they were real, because they would never come to the US to stand trial and risk being put in jail.

Unfortunately for Mueller however, this soon turned into a royal mess. Lawyers defending one of three Russian companies indicted with the 13 Russians, Concord Management, showed up for court. Mueller’s team was caught off guard and never expected this. They immediately asked the judge for more time but the judge denied their pleas noting that they were the ones who indicted the Russian company in the first place.

As the case proceeded, the Concord attorneys noted that another of the three companies indicted by Mueller was not in existence at the time of Mueller’s indictment. They called this a case of Mueller indicting the proverbial ‘ham sandwich’.

At a subsequent court appearance, the attorneys representing Concord stated that the corrupt Mueller team’s allegations of 13 Russian individuals impacting the 2016 election were “made up” nonsense. The individuals were not even real.

Concord Management’s lawyers revealed that Mueller’s team had ignored over 70 discovery requests they had made for information in the case. In response Mueller’s team offered to give Concord Management’s lawyers a massive amount of social media data from those dangerous trolls who sought to influence the US election and the majority of the data was in RUSSIAN.

Mueller’s lawyers then admitted that they didn’t even have English translations for the Russian social media posts. (However, somehow Mueller’s lawyers believed Americans were influenced by these Russian language posts?)

The case of the Russians soon turned into a big joke as the legitimacy of the Mueller indictment was challenged by Concord Management.

In a hearing on October 15th, Concord Management claimed that the Special Counsel’s entire case is built around a 100 year old law that the Mueller team is trying to use in a manner the law was not built for.

Then Concord Management accused Mueller of making up a crime because they don’t have evidence they need to push their cases forward –

Concord Management argued that Mueller’s team wants to be able to regulate what people say on the Internet –

In a follow up brief to the court on October 23rd, Concord states that Mueller’s case is a joke just like Tweety Bird screaming, “I did, I did, I taw a puddy tat”!” –

In November a court denied Concord’s motion to dismiss the Concord case based on the argument that Mueller is making up a crime.  When will these judges see that the Mueller gang is the most corrupt group of investigators and attorneys in US history.  They never should have been provided the latitude they have to move forward with any case.  They should have been shut down at the onset from their conflicts of interest alone.

However, the Concord case moves on.  Concord Management still believes that the Mueller gang is making up a crime and the Mueller gang now seeks to make up secret procedures for communicating ex parte to the court.

It was uncovered that the Mueller team somehow obtained a selfie of someone in the nude. Concords attorneys argue that the method as to how the Mueller team obtained this nude selfie “surely can’t threaten the national security of the United States”? This apparently is what the Mueller team is arguing to the courts and Concord’s attorneys’ argue that the Mueller team is only trying to protect how they received a nude selfie of someone.

The attorneys for Concord argue that the Mueller team is made up of a bunch or government goons –

An example: In a Dec. 20 motion, Mr. Dubelier [Concord’s attorney] resurrected a botched case spearheaded by Mr. Mueller’s top prosecutor, Andrew Weissmann.

Mr. Weissmann headed the Justice Department’s Enron task force nearly two decades ago. He won a conviction against the accounting firm Arthur Andersen for shredding the defunct energy firm’s financial documents.

Years later, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously reversed the conviction. The 2005 decision effectively said that Andersen, by then out of business and its 28,000 employees gone, hadn’t committed a crime.

“Mr. Dubelier is exactly right on Mr. Mueller’s motives and tactics,” said Sidney Powell, whose book “License to Lie” exposes years of Justice Department scandals. “His lieutenant Weissmann is the poster boy for prosecutorial misconduct and has no regard for the facts or the law. He will make up whatever he wants to win, and the entire like-minded team views as an accomplishment everyone whose life they destroy in pursuit of their objective.”

Again, the Mueller team is corrupt.  Concord’s attorneys now claim that they provided documents to the court that were supposed to be protected and the Mueller team somehow obtained access to these documents –

Mueller’s Special Counsel is a national disgrace and the most audacious illegitimate deed in US history. The Special Counsel never should have been set up. It is an illegal coup.  When will the judges related to its cases see the coup for what it really is?

TRUMPED HOLOCAUST RESCUE

In view of recent discussions about ethical lapses among today’s American Jewish leaders, it’s worth recalling a troubling episode, 75 years ago this autumn when America’s foremost Jewish leader manipulated his colleagues in order to stymie criticism of the Roosevelt administration’s refugee policy.

Rabbi Stephen S. Wise dominated the American Jewish leadership from the 1920s through the 1940s. He was the leader of, or at least a central figure in, the American Jewish Congress, the World Jewish Congress, and the Zionist Organization of America, all while running his own rabbinical seminary and a prominent Manhattan synagogue, and serving as editor in chief of a monthly Jewish magazine. 

Rabbi Wise was a devoted supporter of President Franklin D. Roosevelt and the New Deal. In his private correspondence, Wise described FDR as “the Great Man” and “the All Highest.” Although the president declined to extend meaningful assistance to Jews fleeing Hitler, Wise assumed the role of shielding Roosevelt from Jewish criticism. 

The confirmation, in 1942, that the Nazis were carrying out the systematic mass murder of Europe’s Jews put significant pressure on Rabbi Wise to set aside personal and political differences and work with rival Jewish organizations to promote the rescue of Jewish refugees.

In March 1943, eight American Jewish groups agreed to establish the Joint Emergency Committee for European Jewish Affairs, with Wise as co-chair along with American Jewish Committee president Joseph Proskauer. The willingness of Wise, a Zionist, to work with Proskauer, an anti-Zionist, augured well for the cause of Jewish unity.

To Wise’s horror, meetings of the Joint Emergency Committee became the setting for activist-minded Jewish representatives to urge protests against Roosevelt’s refugee policy. Carl Sherman, an official of Wise’s own AJCongress, urged “a forceful public campaign” to convince President Roosevelt to take rescue action. David Wertheim, of the Labor Zionists, called for a “march on Washington by leaders of various Jewish communities” to dramatize the need for rescue. 

Lillie Shultz, the de-facto executive director the AJCongress, even suggested using the Jewish vote against the Roosevelt administration—something that was unheard of in an era of overwhelming Jewish electoral support for FDR. 

“The time has come…to be critical of [the president’s] lack of action [on rescue],” Shultz declared, “and in view of the fact that this is the eve of a presidential election year, ways can be found to indicate to the administration, and possibly through the political parties that the large and influential Jewish communities will find a way of registering its dissatisfaction over the failure of the administration to take any effective steps to save the Jews of Europe.” 

Wise complained bitterly to a colleague about the “wild people” in the Joint Emergency Committee who were “calling President Roosevelt and the State Department names.” Criticism of the president would be “morally and perhaps even physically suicidal,” Wise predicted, implying there might be a violent backlash against American Jews. 

Wise’s co-chair, Joseph Proskauer, was delighted by Wise’s opposition to  the activists. “The spirit I encountered at the first meetings [of the committee] was to rely entirely on the mass meeting technique,” Proskauer confided to a friend. “I am glad to say that in conference I have changed all this…despite the fact that Dr. Stephen Wise and I have disagreed sharply on many issues, we have agreed a hundred percent” that public protests were inadvisable.

To defeat the activists in the Emergency Committee, Wise turned to the American Jewish Conference, an assembly of Jewish officials that he and his colleagues had convened in the summer of 1943. The Conference was primarily intended to solidify Wise’s preeminence as a communal leader. Almost as an afterthought, the Conference created its own Commission on Rescue, but it was an ad hoc group that initially had no staff or budget. Wise decided to use the Commission to nullify the Joint Emergency Committee.

At that point, the Emergency Committee consisted of eight member-organizations. Four were loyal to Wise or Proskauer; the other four favored activism. In September, Wise proposed that his close ally, Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization, be permitted to join the committee. The other groups could not reasonably object, since Hadassah, with more than 95,000 members, was the largest Jewish organization in the country.

The addition of Hadassah tipped the balance; now Wise and his likeminded colleagues in the Joint  Emergency Committee enjoyed a 5-4 majority. With the numbers in his favor, Wise began arguing that the establishment of the American Jewish Conference’s Commission on Rescue had rendered the Emergency Committee obsolete. In November 1943, at Wise’s initiative, the Emergency Committee voted, 5 to 4, to dissolve itself and turn over its functions to the American Jewish Conference. 

Wise’s maneuvering gave him effective control over the mainstream Jewish community’s rescue agenda, ensuring that the positions of the established Jewish organizations on refugees would not challenge or contradict the positions of President Roosevelt.

Rabbi Wise’s determination to preserve his power, stymie dissident voices, and control the communal agenda dealt a blow to the cause of rescue. As the events that transpired 75 years ago this autumn demonstrate, the foremost Jewish leader in America was prepared to place his personal and political interests above the need for Jewish unity in the face of the Holocaust.
