Jonathon Morgan and Renee DiResta, The Democrats’ Biggest Experts Accusing Republicans of Russian Trolling  Turn out to be the  Actual“Fake  Russian Trolls

They invented the Russian conspiracy, then they faked the crimes.

When the Democrats and the media wanted to prove that Russian trolls were everywhere, and supporting Republicans, they turned to Jonathon Morgan and Renee DiResta.

Morgan and DiResta had originally been part of Obama’s futile effort to fight ISIS on social media, before discovering a much more lucrative field. ISIS was losing on the battlefield and the Democrats were losing elections. The Hillary campaign had hatched a conspiracy theory blaming its loss on Russian trolls. And Morgan and DiResta soon became the experts providing the data linking Republicans to Russian trolls.

Every time there was a story on Russian election interference, Morgan would show up on CNN or NBC. And his message was the same, the Russian bots were everywhere and they were a major threat.

Morgan and DiResta soon had a company name, New Knowledge, and were brought on board by the Senate Intelligence Committee to produce a report on Russian influence operations in the 2016 election. Despite the fact that a second report found that most of the Russian trolling efforts had been directed at African-Americans, the New Knowledge report claimed that this was a Russian conspiracy to aid Trump.

The New York Times, which frequently promoted and published New Knowledge conspiracy theories, all but credited DiResta for having exposed the whole Russian-Republican troll conspiracy, and wrote that, “Senate and House staff members, who knew of DiResta's expertise through her public reports and her previous work advising the Obama administration on disinformation campaigns, had reached out to her and others to help them prepare for the hearings.” They seemingly included Senator Warner’s office.

And it wasn’t just the 2016 election. Morgan, who made no secret of his loathing for conservatives, claimed that the Russian bots were everything and aiding Republicans.

When the #ReleasetheMemo hashtag went viral, Morgan, now running his own company, New Knowledge, was there suggesting it might be Russian bots. The debates about gun control after the Parkland school massacre? More Russian bots. The migrant caravan? Obviously a fake news conspiracy.

"That whole news cycle was dominated by this type of conspiratorial fear-mongering," Morgan sniffed, even though his current career is based around conspiratorial lefty fear-mongering.

And the midterm elections?

"Russians Meddling in the Midterms? Here’s the Data," Morgan and Ryan Fox, a New Knowledge employee, warned. “Our company is currently detecting more overall activity in real time from continuing Russian online influence operations targeting the midterm elections than has been disclosed by social media platforms or detected by researchers during the same period before the election in 2016.”

The Russians were even going all the way into Alabama. “Russian trolls tracked by #Hamilton68 are taking an interest in the AL Senate race. What a surprise,” Morgan tweeted.

It wouldn’t have been much of a surprise to him because the “Russian trolls” supporting Roy Moore in Alabama were actually his trolls.

A New York Times story was forced to reveal that Morgan had participated in what a report described as, “an elaborate ‘false flag’ operation that planted the idea that the Moore campaign was amplified on social media by a Russian botnet” thereby “radicalizing Democrats with a Russian bot scandal”

The goal was to “enrage and energize Democrats” and “depress turnout” among Republicans.

The bots used Cyrillic letters and pictures of celebrities. Just in case anyone still didn’t get the message, they included, “I love Russia” in their profiles. When the Moore campaign accused the Democrats of being behind the dirty trick, the Jones campaign doubled down on the Russia smear, declaring, "Maybe Moore should check with Vladimir Putin, who shares his views on depriving people of their civil rights."

But Moore had been telling the truth. It had been a Democrat operation. The media’s greatest expert on Russian trolling had not only falsely claimed that Russian trolls were backing Moore, he was involved.

Morgan, the New York Times and the Washington Post attempted to spin this as an experiment, but influencing an actual election is not an experiment. When Morgan’s people faked Russian bot support for a Republican candidate, and Morgan then helped spread the allegations, that’s not an experiment, it’s a dirty trick. And it raises serious questions about the Democrat’s entire Russian troll narrative.

How can we know that an Alabama special election was the only time that Democrats tried to frame Republicans with false flag operations meant to portray them as traitors and tools of foreign interests?

The Alabama project may have been an experiment, but not an abstract academic one. Its funding allegedly came from LinkedIn billionaire Reid Hoffman who has poured millions of dollars into ventures to harness “Silicon Valley” smarts to help Democrats win. Hoffman had previously been caught backing another slimy Facebook effort targeting conservatives and Trump supporters.

An internet disinformation campaign headed by a disinformation expert would be very “Silicon Valley”.

Hoffman had teamed up with Mark Pincus, the co-founder of Zynga, a slimy Facebook firm  whose unofficial motto was allegedly, “Do Evil”, on WTF, to explore new strategies.  New Knowledge also had backing from French-Iranian billionaire Pierre Omidyar who had made his fortune with eBay. Silicon Valley lefties have been pouring money into new tech efforts for the Left.

It’s worth asking whether some of the dot com billionaires who backed Morgan, New Knowledge or similar efforts to push regulation of Facebook had a plan for profiting from its fall.

The Alabama project’s success could have been used to convince Hoffman and other lefty dot com donors to back similar false flag campaigns targeting Republicans around the country.

Alabama likely was an experiment in tactics. Morgan’s exposure won’t make it go away.

Hillary’s Russian conspiracy theory has evolved into a Cloward-Piven strategy aimed at free speech on the internet in which disinformation is used to attribute conservative speech to a Russian conspiracy requiring immediate regulation of Facebook and other social media companies to avert the crisis.

And if the Russians won’t cooperate, the Russian bots will be lefty hipsters funded by Silicon Valley.

Jonathon Morgan had tweeted, “Facebook and the other social media companies should not be trusted to police themselves. The self-serving attempts to undermine the credibility of those holding these companies accountable are reprehensible.”

New Knowledge's Director of Research, Renee DiResta, had written an editorial titled, “Why Facebook and Twitter Can’t Be Trusted to Police Themselves”.

After years of demanding that regulators force Facebook to crack down on Russian fake news trolls, Morgan finally got what he wanted when Facebook suspended his account over Russian trolling.

Russian election interference was a crisis that the Democrats had manufactured and that their media echo chamber had amplified. Morgan is accused of manufacturing it in the most explicit way possible.

But we can’t really know to what extent Morgan’s experiment has already been replicated. What we know about Russian election interference has largely come from experts like Morgan and New Knowledge. The internet is a shadowy realm and it’s not hard for actors to impersonate one another.

The Russians may have started out by impersonating Americans, only to have Americans impersonate Russians. When public trust in institutions fails, conspiracy theories and conspirators thrive. Morgan’s dirty tricks arose from the same paranoid atmosphere of conspiracy theories weaponized into investigations, opposition research transformed into armed raids, research being secretly planted into the DOJ, and national emergencies being declared over Facebook memes, in which he thrived.

The Russian conspiracy theory had given Democrat outrage form, substance and an agenda. Having invented the conspiracy theory, they also had to invent the crimes that made it real.

To paraphrase Pogo, the Democrats had finally found the Russian troll enemy and he is us.

 Bahrain, Iran and the Syrian Vacuum

As the foreign policy establishment in the United State and abroad argue over the implications of President Trump’s decision to withdraw American forces from Syria, the focus has been on how the Iranian regime will take advantage of this sudden vacuum. While there is merit in keeping an eye on Tehran’s next moves in Syria, Washington’s attention should also be focused on America’s longtime ally in the region, Bahrain. Ensuring that Iran’s clerical regime does not become emboldened to undermine Bahrain must be a top priority of the Trump foreign policy team.

A fundamental tenet of the Islamic Republic’s foreign policy has been to export its ideology to the Muslim world. The theocratic regime’s constitution states: “The Constitution, having regard to the Islamic contents of the Iranian Revolution, which was a movement for the victory of all the oppressed over the arrogant, provides a basis for the continuation of that revolution both inside and outside the country.” In regards to Bahrain, the Iranian regime has used a patient, sophisticated multi-dimensional strategy to export its revolution for the sole purpose of overthrowing this pro-Western, secular monarchy.

On direct orders from Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, the Iranian regime has used a number of approaches to either overturn this steadfast ally of the United States or at a minimum turn Bahrain into a vassal state much like they have done in Lebanon via their local proxy Hezbollah.

First, through its Al-Alam media network Tehran stokes sectarian divisions between Bahrain’s Sunni and Shia populations. The Shia narrative of “the meek” (Shia) versus the oppressors (Sunnis) is a feature of the Iranian regime’s propaganda.

Second, through its Revolutionary Guards, the regime supports militant groups in Bahrain with weapons, training and intelligence.

Third, the Iranian regime portrays dangerous ideologues such as Ayatollah Isa Ghassem as moderates.

Some in the American media portrayed the late Ayatollah Khomeini as a “moderate,” but when he came to power the result was fatwas to murder American servicemen around the world. And last but not least, Iran’s current supreme leader has called Bahrain a province of Iran. These proclamations by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei are a direct threat to Bahrain’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The foundation of the U.S.-Bahrain partnership that the Iranian regime wants to destroy is based on humanitarian, military, economic and diplomatic ties. The American Mission Hospital was established in 1903 and has treated thousands of patients over its 115-year history. Bahrain is home to America’s Fifth Fleet, whose mission is to maintain the uninterrupted flow oil and gas to consumers around world.

Indeed, 30 percent of the world’s energy resources flow through the strategic waterways of the Persian Gulf. Not surprisingly, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs William Crowe described Bahrain as one of America’s most vital allies in the turbulent Middle East: “Pound of pound, man for man, the best ally of America anywhere in the world.”

In 2016 a new chapter in U.S.-Bahrain relations was opened when Amazon AWS announced that it was establishing its regional headquarters in Bahrain. The fact that the world’s most valuable company will build three huge data centers in Bahrain is a vote of confidence for this island nations’ transparent economic system. And on the diplomatic front, Bahrain has expressed its unwavering support for Mr. Trump’s decision to walk away from the flawed Obama Iran nuclear deal and welcomed ties to Israel. In fact, much to the annoyance of the ayatollahs in Iran, Bahrain has stated that as long as the clerical regime plays a destabilizing role in the region Israel has the right to defend itself.

Moving forward, the Trump administration, in cooperation with members of the U.S. Congress, would be well advised to consider the following steps in order to protect our friend and ally from falling prey to the Islamic regime in Tehran.

First, the White House should extend an invitation to the ruler of Bahrain, King Hamad Al-Khalifa, to visit Washington. During this visit Mr. Trump should make it very clear that the United States will not tolerate any interference by the mullahs of Iran in the internal affairs of Bahrain.

Second, Congress should hold hearings on the specifics of how the Iranian regime continues to undermine Bahrain. These hearings should be broadcast live into Iran via the Voice of America Persian language service so as to allow the people of Iran to see how their tormentors use Iran’s precious financial resources to undermine Bahrain.

Third, building on the success of Amazon’s entry into Bahrain, the Pentagon should encourage American startups whose innovative technologies have applications for the defense industry to establish a presence in Bahrain. Funding can be provided by both DARPA and Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund.

Mohammed Al-Sulami, the region’s foremost Iran expert, recently penned an opinion piece titled “Nature may abhor a vacuum but Iran loves one.” He is correct. As the United States grapples with the aftermath of Mr. Trump’s decision to withdraw American troops from Syria, we must keep an eye on Bahrain.

It is impossible to get all the 2018 memories into one article, even this double-sized (literally) long one, so this 2018 retrospective limits to one paragraph per topic and amplifies not in the text but by embedding hyperlinks to some forty or so of my TAS readers’ favorite articles from the past year and a half — not to mention the past year’s most viral favorite: Everyone’s Smart Except Trump. Feel free to read in bits, a ’graph here and a ’graph there, over the extended New Year’s Weekend — or read more if, like me, you now boycott the NFL completely so have more time. And now on to memory lane:

Hillary Still Coping in Alternate Reality

Hillary (D-NY)… and suddenly that name will never be the same again. Answering Chris Wallace in a 2016 Presidential debate, Hillary (D-NY) excoriated Donald Trump when he left open whether he would accept uncritically the results of the Presidential election if he were to lose. Yet, after the election, Hillary challenged the vote counts, denounced the electoral college, mocked the stupidity of White women for letting their husbands tell them how to vote, endlessly blamed her loss on Russian collusion and election influencing, and she blamed James Comey for reopening the investigation into her 33,000 yoga and wedding-dress emails after the FBI learned that Hillary aide Huma Abedin had emailed secure and confidential materials to a home computer used simultaneously by her lecherous then- and now-former husband Anthony Weiner (D-NY). Having only barely not lost in 2008 to Obama, and again having not lost to Trump, she has supporters urging her to try a third time in 2020 not to lose the Presidency again. Many of those urging her to run are loyal readers of these columns. None believe that her 33,000 deleted emails concerned yoga. Reality check: Hillary never attained the lotus position, and Hillary never attained the POTUS position.

Manafort and Ostriches

Paul Manafort bought an ostrich jacket for $15,000, and it does not even look much different from a Kmart sweater. This helps better understand why ostriches hide their heads. The President pardoned two turkeys before Thanksgiving, and he may be expected to pardon both an ostrich and Manafort but not Michael “Cash Cab” Cohen in the next year or two.

Omarosa

Someone named Omarosa ended up with a job as “Apprentice” in the White House. She hung around and did whatever she did, sort of like Seinfeld’s Cosmo Kramer working daily at a job where he never was hired. When they caught up with her, she proceeded secretly to tape-record the White House Chief of Staff, Gen. John Kelly, during a polite confidential termination meeting. To prove that she did not deserve to be fired and that she is a consummate professional, she then went on television and shared secret tapes for those who would listen to them. The predictable book followed.

Comey Leaks/Strzok-Page Sneaks/McCabe Creaks

Because he was found to be a low life, Andrew McCabe got fired summarily from the FBI just before his pension kicked in. Peter Strzok and Lisa Page are gone, too. (This is the only article published anywhere in Year 2018 America that will not gratuitously call them “lovers.”) James Comey, their peerless leader, leaked secret confidential FBI documents to the New York Times. CNN and the Left media spent the year attacking police and supporting “Black Lives Matter Except in Chicago and Baltimore,” and calling for the end of ICE and border enforcement. But the anti-law-enforcement, anti-military Left became pro-FBI and established a new religion built around Gen. James Mattis as Savior and Bernie Sanders (D-VT), Joe Biden (D-RI), and Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) as the Three Wise Men. It was questioned throughout 2018 how the FBI could have developed a culture of deceit among so many of its top brass when it was under the steady hand of Director Comey. At public appearances hawking his book, Comey leaked the answer.

Perjury Blasey Ford

#MeToo’s founders included cowards who knew what Harvey Weinstein had done to others, but they nevertheless remained silent for years and instead called him “god” while cheering for Roman Polanski, a child rapist. Ultimately, they found a remarkably wealthy perjurer to serve as their vocal fry. Christine Blasey Ford turned out to be a multi-millionaire, sharing with her husband several properties with a combined fair market value exceeding five million dollars. No small fry she. Plus another million in GoFundMe cash. When the Fords converted one of their properties for rental, they skirted zoning rules by adding an extra front door for entrance and exit. She perjured herself by testifying under oath that she had added the door to help her cope with claustrophobia. (Medical science treats claustrophobia by prescribing breaking walls to install more front doors. That also is why doctors urge kleptomaniacs to hold up banks.) Meanwhile, Justice Kavanaugh now has a lifetime bench seat, will age there like a fine wine, and will order beer when attending baseball games with friends. Because he likes beer.

A Very Serious New Scourge: Implanted False Memory

With Blasey Ford’s compelling false testimony at the Kavanaugh hearings reciting imaginary “repressed” memories, we now are on the cusp of a new scourge that will pock the next American decade if we do not find a cure, possibly by haling viciously manipulative psychotherapists to court on advanced tort theories. When people go to therapists, they arrive in various states. It would seem that only a minority truly are severely afflicted, while many simply seek guidance, self-understanding, marriage insights, and coping mechanisms for work or family life. However, those sorely afflicted are susceptible to severe psychological manipulation. In some outlier situations, predatory therapists take advantage of their deeply vulnerable patients by engaging them sexually: the therapist divides the word and becomes the rapist. From the implications of the Kavanaugh hearings, it now is clear that, in cases where a therapist has his or her own agenda — for example, where an extreme feminist psychologist mistrusts all or many men, or the wealthy or established or successful, and has an intersectionalist or other agenda — such a psychologist has the power, akin to hypnosis, to implant into a sincere but deeply troubled and vulnerable patient false “memories” and to convince the person manipulatively that these implanted notions are “repressed” from decades earlier. Clearly, everything from the Cosby case to matters that have unfolded in the Catholic and other religious communities have revealed that repressed memories of abuse indeed can be horrifyingly real. However, the Kavanaugh hearings demonstrated likewise that they can be devastatingly fabricated, too, and the impact of such false accusations derived from implanted false memories can be life-ruining and character-assassinating to the morally best of people, primarily cynically targeted men, who do not deserve that and perhaps never will be able to erase the asterisk from their biographies.

Cheap Penny-Pinching Euro Prigs

Trump went to Europe and nicely told NATO leaders to their faces that they are the cheapest penny-pinching blood-suckers he ever met, and that it is time for them to pay lots more towards their own defense and security, even as they have imposed the most unfair trade restrictions and tariffs against America for 75 years since we saved their keisters in World War II. As a result, reflecting that they do not like him as much as Obama, they did not give him a Nobel Prize for brushing his teeth daily, washing his hands, and drinking his milk. Instead, they sat quietly, hands clasped, faces staring down at their desks, deprived of day’s recess, facing after-class detention, realizing that after falsely stereotyping Jews for a thousand years, it is the West Europeans who are the actual Shylocks and Fagins, cheap and stingy, financially dishonest as the day is long, constantly chiseling and dickering and failing to honor their promises to pay, sucking blood and treasure out of the America that sacrificed the blood of its boys for them in the past century’s two World Wars after they proved unwilling to prepare for their own defenses from enemy attack, hailing “peace in their time” with Hitler as they sold out the Czechs, and incapable of warding off enemy attack without our help.

Pocahontas: I’m an Indian, Too

In a seminole moment in the year’s politics, Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) set out to prove definitively that she was worthy of being denominated as the Harvard faculty’s first woman of color. Her DNA blood tests came back, and it emerged that she has about as much Native American blood as Andrew Jackson and George Armstrong Custer. For a while, President Trump fretted that he no longer could call her “Pocahontas” because she was so Indian-free. No word yet on whether she will sioux the DNA analysts, but she came under a furious Cherokee attack. Sen. Speaking Bull may be waiting for 2020 for her last stand.

Blaming the Russians for Supposedly Doing to America Exactly What Obama and Kerry Actually Did to Israel

Obama (D-IL) and Kerry (D-MA) used United States taxpayers’ money to engage in secret spending and collusion with Leftist groups in Israel to try throwing the 2015 Israeli national elections towards a coalition of Leftist political parties to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu won resoundingly anyway. The very next year, Obama knowingly did not endeavor to stop Russian interference in the American elections until Donald Trump unexpectedly beat Hillary. No one ever has met or identified a single person who can or will say that his or her 2016 vote was based on something the Russians posted somewhere. Meanwhile, Democrats manipulated predatory “vote harvesting” to steal seven or more House seats in California, and they indeed engaged in fake news and Facebook manipulation to steal the Republican Senate seat in Alabama that awaits Jeff Sessions’s return in 2020 as he completes rectifying his error in having stumbled temporarily into the Peter Principle from which he now has recused himself.

Kamala

Kamala Harris (D-CA) outshone her senior partner, Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), this year of California Fires in Paradise and Senators from Purgatory. As Kamala gets even better known, the public will start learning more about how she rose to the top from the bottom. Kamala Harris slept her way into prominence by being the public escort and consort of a guy named Willie Brown, who was California Democrat Boss in his day. During the incredibly public affair, everyone knew of it and also knew that Brown still was very married. In the poetically immortal words of Blanche Brown, the ostensibly feckless wife: “Listen, she may have him at the moment, but come inauguration day and he’s up there on the platform being sworn in, I’ll be the b***h holding the Bible.” (Well, maybe Blanche had some feck.) Today Kamala Harris preaches morality. In California politics, when someone says “Kamala is lying,” the response is not: “About what?” Rather the response is: “With whom?” Kamala is fortunate that an undergraduate at Barnard already seems to have cornered the nickname “The Mattress Girl.”

Kamala! Kamala!

I know it sounds a bit bizarre

But in Kamala, Kamala

That’s how conditions are.

Trump Recognizes Jerusalem Insteadipus Rex

President Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Policy experts Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Defense Secretary James Mattis predicted that this would isolate America from her allies, launch a major international conflagration, and that the whole Arab world would declare jihad against America and Israel. Then Trump next moved the American embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The same experts predicted that, well, now the international jihad really will start. Meanwhile, a year later, no jihad. No international nothing. Israel and Sunni Arab countries have grown as close as those fraught relationships can allow Wahhabi Islam to go. Instead, the biggest Saudi Arabia problem of 2018 is what happened to Khashoggi and whether that answer can lead the FBI finally to find Jimmy Hoffa. Along the way, Jewish leftists continued ignoring rabid anti-Semitism on the Left while tagging the most pro-Israel President in American history as an “anti-Semite” despite the President now enjoying 91% favorability polling numbers among Orthodox Jews.

Avenatti

We met Avenatti, the creepy porn lawyer. He sued Trump for defaming his client, a pole dancer whose reputation borders on the Cerasani standard of being “defamation proof.” How does one defame a pole dancer — by calling her “bi-polar”? By proving that she never even visited the North Pole or the South Pole? So he sued Trump for defamation, and the judge not only threw out the complaint but also ordered the pole dancer to pay Trump’s lawyers almost $300,000. Meanwhile, Avenatti uncovered some kook who claimed that, when she was in college, she regularly attended teenagers’ parties where male high schoolers stood on a rape line — a “rape train” — and she just kept going back to more of those parties. Not long after, Avenatti got busted by L.A. police for allegedly busting a woman’s face. He denied the charges, invoking his inner Kavanaugh, asking only that he not be pre-judged based on uncorroborated allegations. With that, to the dismay of these columns, he ended his eagerly anticipated 2020 candidacy for the Presidency of the United States. Putin will have to rewrite the Facebook posts.

Spartacus

Cory Booker (D-NJ) compared himself to Spartacus. The two differ only in how they respectively spent their days of young manhood. The fictional Spartacus devoted those years to fighting the Roman empire in a desperate life-or-death struggle to end slavery. The cost: he was crucified. The fictitious Cory Booker spent those same years trying to get his hands inside women’s undergarments. For his efforts, he ended up on the Senate Judiciary Committee, preaching morality to Brett M. Kavanaugh, a moral pillar whose main infraction apparently is that he likes beer and once was a teenage boy. During the Blasey Ford questioning, Booker was seated beyond arm’s length from the witness.

The Ninth and the Ode to Oy!

President Trump enacted an entry ban on immigrants from certain countries disposed to exporting terror, and the Left ran to the Ninth Circuit and got them to enjoin the law. Trump banned sanctuary cities, and the Left ran to the Ninth Circuit and got them to enjoin the law. Trump approved the Keystone XL pipeline, and the Left ran to the Ninth Circuit and got a district judge to enjoin the law. Trump ruled that immigrants seeking asylum need to apply at proper ports of entry, and the Left ran to the Ninth Circuit and got them to enjoin the law. Then John Roberts declared that there are “no Obama judges.” It is not known whether this declaration ruined the holidays for a seven-year-old girl who was following the trek of an Obama Judge on NORAD, hoping for a nationwide injunction for Christmas.

Gillibrand Backstabs the Clintons, Then Links With the Jew-Haters

Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) spent her entire political gestation period supping at the feet of the Clintons. They helped her raise money, get name recognition, and enter the public arena. After Hillary was beaten by Trump and no longer constituted a force in the party, and with Donna Brazile and the rest of the Democrat Party blaming Hillary for losing the White House, the ascendant Gillibrand unceremoniously dumped the Clintons, said that Bill should have resigned from the Presidency because of all his #MeToo (Paula Jones) and #SheToo (Juanita Broaddrick) and #SheThree (Kathleen Willey) and #SheFour (Lewinsky) moments. Then Gillibrand set her sights on the 2020 Democrat nomination for the Presidency, joining up with two rabid Jew-haters, Linda Sarsour and Tamika Mallory, and throwing her lot in with the anti-Semites. Gillibrand also fit in with her new intersectionalist friends by opposing legislation that would punish anti-Semitic corporate boycotts of Israel.

Tariffs

Trump imposed steel and aluminum tariffs to save the American steel and aluminum industries. In the event of an urgent need to turn a peace economy into a war economy as the Western world faced in the 1930s, it is less desirable to be defenseless and sliced like butter (as the morally decadent and lazy French experienced at Hitler’s hands) or to be bombed every night for a year or two (as happened to a defiant but unprepared England) than to be situated to defend with a flourishing steel-and-aluminum home-grown industrial base. (Would you rather be attacking the enemy with a stealth bomber or a Peugeot?) Paul Ryan led the charge against Trump, explaining that tariffs never work. Soon, neither will Ryan, while the American steel and aluminum industries have experienced a revival.

CNN’s Racism Impugning Blacks As Too Stupid to Read

Don Lemon laughed uncontrollably when one of his guests stated that Kanye West’s political views derived from Mr. West’s apparent inability to read. We know it is forbidden to use the “N- word” (although Robert De Niro has established that it is permitted to use the “F- word”). But Lemon and CNN legitimized racism through the back door by establishing that it is reasonable to say that some African Americans, even multi-millionaire business geniuses and music legends within their chosen genres, are inherently so stupid that they simply do not know how to read. CNN does not allow this viciously racist and despicable canard to be said about political opponents of any other demographic group besides African Americans.

Après Trump, Le Macron

Donald Trump took America out of the cockamamie Paris Climate Accord that basically allowed all Third World polluters — especially China and India — to continue choking the earth’s atmosphere with soot, carbon, and garbage while Obama and Kerry had America uniquely committing to reduce our economic activity and debilitate our industry. In response, a year after the pull-out, Emmanuel Macron lectured Trump publicly in Europe, virtue-signaling, and declaring that Macron is too excellent ever to call himself a “nationalist” because he understands his global responsibilities. A few weeks later, the streets of France went on fire — a national French roast — as Macron’s less-globalist French constituency revolted, reducing him to a french-fry. Macron had to go on national French TV to beg his people to forgive him and not guillotine his wife or him amid the French dressing down. Towards that end, he promised everyone lots more tax-free money that effectively would let them eat all the cake they like.

Kamala and Mazie Join the Klan in Trashing Catholics

American voters would not allow a Catholic to become President until 1960, when John F. Kennedy (D-MA) defeated Richard Nixon (possibly honestly, possibly by ballot cheating in Mayor Richard Daley’s Chicago and in Landslide Lyndon’s Texas). The expressed concern about Catholics until then, besides the underlying bigotry, is that Catholics cannot be trusted to uphold the laws of America because bigots suspected that Catholics answer dutifully to alien authorities like the Pope and Knights of Columbus. Since 1960, Catholics have been an integral part of America’s national political landscape. Now suddenly, half a century after the religion test for Catholics seemed to have ended, Kamala Harris and Mazie Hirono (D-HI) have joined the Ku Klux Klan — America’s definitive anti-Catholic society, where deceased Sen. Robert Carlyle Byrd (D-WV), born Cornelius Calvin Sale, Jr., once was Exalted Cyclops — in challenging the Constitutional loyalties of Presidential nominees who happen to be Catholic. Kalifornia’s Konspicuous Kamala possibly is the first Black person to revive KKK philosophy on the mainland, and her sister in religious bigotry, Hirono, seems the first Asian American to revive Klan philosophy in the Pacific.

Trump, Santa, and Mueller

President Trump came under blistering attack for asking a seven-year-old girl whether she still believes in Santa Claus and saying that such belief, by age seven, becomes “marginal.” He did this while he and his wife gave up their private time on Christmas Eve so that they could talk to American children who were calling NORAD to monitor Santa’s location. Instead of personally celebrating at Mar-a-Lago, the Trumps opted to remain in the White House and thrill children with a once-in-a-lifetime chance to speak directly to the President of the United States. His critics, meantime, were at home or at parties, getting themselves drunk on eggnog and desperately standing under mistletoes with no luck. Even the horrors of World War I, World War II, and the Vietnam War regularly would see a one-day Christmas truce, but contemporary Trump haters will not accord the President even that. They also blistered him for not visiting troops during Christmastime. His critics apparently did not realize that the President cannot tell a child that there really is a Santa Claus because otherwise Mueller will indict him for perjury in the White House, and the Washington Post will give him four Pinocchios. Meanwhile, the next day President Trump and the First Lady were in Iraq visiting the troops, thereafter visiting even more troops in Germany, while Jim Acosta reportedly was in his 48th consecutive hour, standing under a mistletoe, yelling: “Hey, everyone, I’m Jim Acosta! I’m Jim! The guy with the iron-fisted mike grip.”

Women’s March Gets “Woke” and Goes Judenrein Just Like the Nazis

A tough year for women as Megyn Keller (or was it Kelly — y’know, the one who used to be famous) finally disappeared behind her last culturally appropriated Halloween mask. The Women’s March began with hyper-sexagenarian Madonna boasting on the day the Trump Presidency began that, like so many others who hate Obama, she often previously had considered blowing up the White House. Soon, the outlier member of the Judd Family who briefly had escaped from the butterfly nets, was reciting a poem written for her by a teenager who had experienced a bad episode. From that auspicious beginning, the Women’s March spent its next eighteen months converting into a Jew-hating infrastructure, made Judenrein at the top in a manner reminiscent of the 1935 Nuremberg Laws, and headed by the country’s most vile all-around bigot, Linda Sarsour, and by her scrofulous soul sister, Tamika Mallory, the latter a Jew-hater who publicly idolizes both her mentors, Al Sharpton and Louis Farrakhan. By year’s end, major celebrities were pulling out of Women’s March, state chapters were quitting, and the founder of Women’s March was bemoaning how the movement had been taken over by apostles of Farrakhan.

Caravan

DACA? What DACA? A Caravan-sans-camels came to the American southern border from Guatemala and the Honduras after overrunning the vaunted and much-undervalued Mexican army. After the MS-13 animals, rapists, opioid peddlers, and a supporting cast of some women and children surged past the hapless Mexican troopers who pathetically asked for credentials, it became clear that they really do need stinkin’ badges. And we need a big beautiful Wall, no matter who pays for it.

Trump Tax Cuts

While CNN and the Left media pushed the trope that the President has dementia, Trump pushed for massive tax cuts. Every last Senate Democrat voted against, including Claire McCaskill (D-MO), Bill Nelson (D-FL), Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND), and Joe Donnelly (D-IN). (Bye, pals.) Immediately after the tax cuts were passed, major corporate employers started distributing $1,000 and $2,000 pay bonuses, and the economy began booming. In time, unemployment hit all-time record lows in the African-American and Latino communities, forty-year lows among women, and kept sinking even lower. Food stamp and welfare recipients started dropping off the public till and instead started paying into the system with income taxes. As Pelosi mocked the initial bonuses as “crumbs,” salaries themselves started rising after the Obama Lost Decade. Whereas Obama had invoked his inner Jimmy Carter to assert that stagnant economies and muddled two percent growth were the “new normal,” Trump boldly predicted growth exceeding three percent. Obama mockingly asked whether the foolhardy Trump was going to achieve that impossible target with a magic wand. Trump was proven right. It was the one triumphant policy moment in Trump’s first two years in which even RINOs could bask, as the Senate needed only a simple majority to pass the tax cuts under “budget reconciliation.” That enactment demonstrated, however so briefly, what the Republicans might have accomplished these past two years had they not been hamstrung by the Senate’s archaic bastardization of the filibuster rule that sees virtually every legislative initiative needing sixty votes rather than the simple majority envisioned by the Constitution’s framers.

It was quite a year. Have a wonderful 2019. Next year — the pardons… and the Wall.

 FBI Spent  More on “Russian Dirt”and “Fake News” in the 2016 Election Cycle Than Russia Did…

The FBI engaged in a systemic, strategic effort to generate  public concerns  of “Russian collusion” during and after the 2016 presidential campaign.

On Tuesday, December 11, 2018, Google CEO Sundar Pichai testified before the House Judiciary Committee. Pichai was called to explain Google business practices including data collection and targeting of conservative voices. During questioning Pichai  admitted Russia spent only $4,700 on advertisements during the 2016 election.[ In a campaign where Hillary Clinton spent nearly a billion dollars.]

Russia also paid around $70,000 on Facebook ads to attract both Trump and Hillary supporters. Russia spent around $6,000 on Facebook ads the last six weeks of the election which had no effect on the election.

Russia spent a total of around $75,000 to run ads on US social media during the 2016 election — both to promote Hillary AND Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, the FBI spent much more for” Russian dirt” than Russia paid on collusion.

Along with the DNC and Hillary campaign, the FBI picked up a significant percentage of the tab for the Steele dossier.The FBI paid Christopher Steele’s travel and other expenses while he was putting together his  “dossier” on Trump.

The Clinton campaign paid DNC lawyer Marc Elias and his law firm Perkins Coie paid Fusion GPS and later denied knowledge of the same dossier they paid for.

And the FBI paid Michael Steele from Fusion GPS $160,000 for travel expenses while he was digging up dirt for his  “dossier”.

FBI Treatment of General Flynn…. You could be next.

No matter what your political leanings are, you should be highly concerned about how the FBI misled General Michael Flynn resulting in his taking a plea agreement with Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller for lying to the FBI.  Thus, the general agreed to the fact that he committed a felony.  All that is highly suspect, and every American citizen should be scared if the judge does not throw this out.

After General Flynn’s attorneys claimed that top-tier FBI personnel intentionally misled him about having legal representation present and the nature of this meeting with their personnel, U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan demanded documents from Mueller’s team regarding the charges against Flynn.  These are the same documents that both the FBI and Justice Department have stonewalled Congress about for over a year.  Unfortunately, Mueller was given the opportunity to file the documents under seal with the Judge which would hide the truth about the behavior of our government employees in the process.  Judge Sullivan should release these documents as we the people of this country deserve to know what was done.

Further damning the behavior of the FBI, fired former FBI Director James Comey was shown bragging during an interview about the way the Flynn meeting was set up without going through the White House counsel’s office as is the standard procedure. Comey stated this was “something I probably wouldn't have done or maybe gotten away with in a more … organized administration.”  The fact that someone in Comey’s position tried to “get away with” circumventing normal procedure to interview the incoming National Security Advisor should scare any U.S. citizen.   

The principle argument that is made about General Flynn’s lying is that he was a long-time General and Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency; thus, he should know not to lie to the FBI.  But let us look at the actual situation at hand.  And remember it was stated by FBI agents that they believe Flynn did not lie to them.  This has since been twisted around.

We will never know why Flynn plead to lying.  He apparently did lie to Vice-President Pence.

The more important matter is we each have to decide whether it is more important that a citizen lied to the government or the government lied to the citizen.  Particularly the heads of one of our law enforcement agencies intentional misleading a citizen than saying “You should have known better.”  I fall on the side of the citizen here against the amorphous government.  

Interesting the same people who are defending the lying of the government in this situation seem to be the same people chafing at every statement President Trump makes that the MSM interprets as a lie.  

Flynn at the time was the incoming National Security Advisor.  He was contacted by the No. 2 person at the FBI, Andrew McCabe.  He was told McCabe (apparently at the direction of Comey) was sending over two agents to talk to him, but there was no need to have an attorney present. That means they never told him this was to be an official FBI interview.  Sounds to me like a casual conversation.  If it were you or me and the FBI told us that we do not need an attorney present, that would be against the law.  Any discussion would be thrown out of court.  But neither of us is one of the most powerful people in the country.  Flynn was a government employee at the time and he had special legal protections that you and I don’t have with our Miranda rights, but McCabe and Comey ignored those also.

Flynn meets with these two FBI agents who are several levels lower than he is in the federal government.  He has the highest level of security clearance in the country.  Tell me what obligation does he have to tell these two pipsqueaks anything -- let alone the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth?  How did Flynn know whether these two FBI agents even had clearance to hear what he might say? By McCabe telling him he needed no attorney present, he was led to believe the conversation wasn’t part of an investigation or an official FBI interview. For some reason now, the FBI is justifying their behavior by saying any discussion with them is “official.”  

The federal government has used this “not lying to the FBI” excuse far too often to ruin people’s lives.  Ask Scooter Libby or Martha Stewart.  Neither of these people could be convicted on the underlying crimes but were convicted on the catchall charge of “lying to the FBI.”  In fact, the disgusting Peter Fitzgerald, special prosecutor in the Valerie Plame Affair, knew that someone else had released the information that led to his appointment, but he pursued the indictment of Libby for lying anyway.  Talk about abuse of power.  Thankfully, Trump has pardoned him and the president should pardon Stewart also.  

To remind you what happens when the FBI does an “official” interview, they show up with two agents who take notes of the meeting.  One of them then transcribes those notes. That becomes the official record of the interview.  That may be an accurate record of what you said, it may be their view of what they think you said, or it may be what they decide to record as the official record.  If the person is later interviewed and says something different than what is on the transcript it is considered lying to the FBI.  That is the determination even if you say the exact same thing as before, but the FBI agents did not record it correctly.  

Lying to the FBI can also occur after they have combed through your records and they ask you about an email from two years prior that they do not provide you and you can’t possibly remember because like most people you don’t remember what you ate for lunch last week.  

Mueller and his minions defend this gross abuse of power as if they are omnipotent.  They seem to forget our Constitution and where the true power rests in this country is with the people they deem as their inferiors.  This is symptomatic of a federal government out of control that believes we are the lowly peasants while they mouth platitudes about protecting us.

This is gross abuse of power and an egregious affront to our manner of living.   We need someone to put a stop to this behavior by our federal justice employees.  What Judge Sullivan needs to do is throw out all the charges against Flynn and order the federal government to reimburse him for his legal costs.  Unfortunately, that does not appear to be his focus at this time.  But there is still time for redemption for Judge Sullivan.

You better hope he comes to his senses for your own sake.  You could be next.

In a bombshell revelation, Goodluck Jonathan, Nigeria's former president (2010-2015), has accused the Obama administration of meddling with his nation's politics in order to replace him with its current president, Muhammadu Buhari -- whom many blame for facilitating the persecution of Christians. In his new book, My Transition Hours, Jonathan writes:

"On March 23, 2015, President Obama himself took the unusual step of releasing a video message directly to Nigerians all but telling them how to vote... In that video, Obama urged Nigerians to open the 'next chapter' by their votes. Those who understood subliminal language deciphered that he was prodding the electorate to vote for the [Muslim-led] opposition to form a new government."

A 2011 ABC News report provides context:

The current wave of [Muslim] riots was triggered by the Independent National Election Commission's (INEC) announcement on Monday [April 18, 2011] that the incumbent President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, won in the initial round of ballot counts. That there were riots in the largely Muslim inhabited northern states where the defeat of the Muslim candidate Muhammadu Buhari was intolerable, was unsurprising. Northerners [Muslims] felt they were entitled to the presidency for the declared winner, President Jonathan, [who] assumed leadership after the Muslim president, Umaru Yar'Adua died in office last year and radical groups in the north [Boko Haram] had seen his [Jonathan's] ascent as a temporary matter to be corrected at this year's election. Now they are angry despite experts and observers concurring that this is the fairest and most independent election in recent Nigerian history.

That the Obama administration may have imposed its will on a foreign country's politics and elections is hardly unprecedented. Recall the administration's partiality for the Muslim Brotherhood during and after 2012 presidential elections in Egypt; or its unsuccessful efforts to oust Israeli prime minister Netanyahu with U.S. taxpayers' money; or its efforts -- with an admittedly unverified "dossier" (here, here and here) -- to prevent then-presidential candidate Donald J. Trump from being elected, or by discussing an "insurance policy" in the event that Trump won. Moreover, texts by Peter Strzok revealed that Obama "wants to know everything we're doing."

So in Nigeria, the Obama administration, it seems, sought to right the apparently intolerable wrong of having a duly elected Christian president in a more than 50% Christian nation.

Two questions arise: 1) Is there any outside evidence to corroborate Jonathan's allegations against the Obama administration? 2) Is Buhari truly facilitating the jihad on his Christian countrymen?

The Obama Administration's Pro-Islamic/Anti-Christian Policy

Former Nigerian President Jonathan's newly published accusations appear to correspond with the former U.S. administration's policy concerning Muslims and Christians in Nigeria.

To begin with, the Obama administration insisted that violence and bloodshed in Nigeria -- almost all of which was committed by Muslims against Christians -- had nothing to do with religion. This despite the fact that Boko Haram -- which was engaging in ISIS type of atrocities: slaughter, kidnap, rape, plunder, slavery, torture before ISIS was even born -- presented its terrorism as a jihad. In one instance it even called on President Jonathan to "repent and forsake Christianity" and convert to Islam as the price for peace. The Obama administration, however, refused to designate Boko Haram as a foreign terrorist organization until November 2013 -- years after increasing pressure from lawmakers, human rights activists, and lobbyists.

For instance, after a Nigerian church was destroyed in an Easter Day 2012 bombing that left 39 worshippers dead -- one of many such deadly church bombings over the years in Nigeria -- Obama's Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Johnnie Carson, said, "I want to take this opportunity to stress one key point and that is that religion is not driving extremist violence" in Nigeria.

Instead, "inequality" and "poverty" -- to quote Bill Clinton -- are "what's fueling all this stuff" (a reference to the jihadi massacre of thousands of Christians).

Apparently to prove that it believed what it was saying, the Obama administration even agreed to allocate $600 million in a USAID initiative to ascertain the "true causes" of unrest and violence in Nigeria, which supposedly lay in the socio-economic, never the religious, realm.

Also telling is that, although the Obama administration offered only generic regrets whenever Christians were slaughtered by the dozens -- without acknowledging the religious identity of persecutor or victim -- it loudly protested whenever Islamic terrorists were targeted. When, for instance, Nigerian forces under Jonathan's presidency killed 30 Boko Haram terrorists in an offensive in May 2013, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry (who is also mentioned in unflattering terms in Jonathan's memoirs) "issued a strongly worded statement" to Jonathan, reported Reuters: "We are ... deeply concerned by credible allegations that Nigerian security forces are committing gross human rights violations," Kerry warned the Nigerian president.

In March 2014, after the United States Institute for Peace invited the governors of Nigeria's northern states for a conference in the U.S., the State Department blocked the visa of the region's only Christian governor, Jonah David Jang, an ordained minister. According to human rights lawyer Emmanuel Ogebe:

"After the [Christian governor] told them that they were ignoring the 12 Shariah states who institutionalized persecution ... he suddenly developed visa problems... The question remains – why is the U.S. downplaying or denying the attacks against Christians?"

More recently, Ogebe, of the U.S. Nigeria Law Group based in Washington, told Gatestone in an interview that the Obama administration "State Department actually said they preferred a 'Muslim majority' country to explain why Obama chose to visit Senegal instead of Nigeria. Ironically, Jonathan sided with the US on Israel in the UN while Buhari voted against the US/Israel in the UN."

Muhammadu Buhari's Role in the Jihad on Christians

Indicators that Muhammadu Buhari -- whom the Obama administration helped make president of Nigeria, according to Jonathan -- is empowering the genocide of Christians follow.

After Goodluck Jonathan became president, thousands of Christians living near Muslim centers in Nigeria were killed. Since getting what they want -- a Muslim president, Muhammadu Buhari, in 2015 -- Muslims have attacked Christians in ways that are being characterized as a "pure genocide."

As the Christian Association of Nigeria, an umbrella group of various Christian denominations, said in a recent statement:

"There is no doubt that the sole purpose of these attacks is aimed at ethnic cleansing, land grabbing and forceful ejection of the Christian natives from their ancestral land and heritage."

To begin with, significantly more Christians have been massacred under Muhammadu Buhari than his Christian predecessor -- mostly by Muslim Fulani herdsmen, who regularly launch raids on Christian villages. In just the first six months of this year, 6,000 Christians were slaughtered in the name of jihad. It took three times as long for the Fulani to kill only 1,484 Christians under Jonathan's presidency.

Any number of prominent Nigerians have accused Buhari of turning a blind eye to Fulani atrocities. He "is himself from the jihadists' Fulani tribe," Ogebe told Gatestone.

According to Rev. Musa Asake, the General Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria:

"Under President Buhari, the murderous Fulani herdsmen enjoyed unprecedented protection and favoritism... Rather than arrest and prosecute the Fulani herdsmen, security forces usually manned by Muslims from the North offer them protection as they unleash terror with impunity on the Nigerian people."

Similarly, according to prominent Nigerian lawyer, author and former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode:

"... the Muslim president [Buhari] has only awarded the murderers with impunity rather than justice and has staffed his government with Islamic officials, while doing essentially nothing to give the nation's Christians, who make up half the population, due representation."

Like the Obama administration, Buhari also attributes Fulani persecution of Christians to "poverty, injustice and the lack of job opportunities." As the Christian Association of Nigeria retorts, however:

"How can it be a [secular or economic] clash when one group [Muslims] is persistently attacking, killing, maiming, destroying, and the other group [Christians] is persistently being killed, maimed and their places of worship destroyed?"

The National Christian Elders Forum is more direct concerning the source of violence:

"JIHAD has been launched in Nigeria by the Islamists of northern Nigeria led by the Fulani ethnic group. This Jihad is based on the Doctrine of Hate taught in Mosques and Islamic Madrasas in northern Nigeria as well as the supremacist ideology of the Fulani. Using both conventional (violent) Jihad, and stealth (civilization) Jihad, the Islamists of northern Nigeria seem determined to turn Nigeria into an Islamic Sultanate and replace Liberal Democracy with Sharia as the National Ideology. ... We want a Nigeria, where citizens are treated equally before the law at all levels...."

The Buhari government has even been accused of participating in the jihad. For example, one especially savage Fulani "attack razed several [Christian] villages in the southern part of the state [leaving 100 dead], and a military jet bombed a Lutheran church and other targets," says one report, before adding: "Some people suspect the jets were deployed in collaboration with the terrorists because their bombs hit villagers."

Fani-Kyode has been even more direct in his accusation against Buhari:

"Hundreds of indigenous Numan Christians in Adamawa state were attacked and killed by jihadist Fulani herdsmen. When they tried to defend themselves the Buhari govt. sent in the Airforce to bomb hundreds of them and protect the Fulani aggressors. Is this fair? WORLD TAKE NOTE!"

It is also worth noting that, although Christians were only recently the majority of Nigeria's population, the ongoing genocide against them has caused their population to drop -- to the point that Christianity in Nigeria "is on the brink of extinction," warns Bosun Emmanuel, the secretary of the National Christian Elders Forum. Last summer he said that Muhammadu Buhari "is openly pursuing an anti-Christian agenda that has resulted in countless murders of Christians all over the nation and destruction of vulnerable Christian communities." Accordingly, "the Church has been weakened and unable to stand before its enemies. Realistically speaking, Christianity is on the brink of extinction in Nigeria. The ascendancy of Sharia ideology in Nigeria rings the death toll for the Nigerian Church."
